For instance, no pesticides are sprayed on the growing forages and no preservatives are used in manufacturing. In fact, nothing whatsoever is added or applied. The alfalfa used to make Alfalfa-mazing is cut fresh in the field and then gathered in to be dried very quickly at high temperature in what is, effectively, a huge tumble-drier. It’s then bagged immediately on site at our farm. This process ensures the naturally occurring nutrients are locked in, giving the feed a long and practical shelf life of two years, meaning you can feed it all year round and dip in and out of a bag as your horse or pony’s requirements change throughout the year.
