Timothy HorseHage, as its name implies, is made from timothy grass which is very similar to the famous Kentucky bluegrass of America. This grass is higher in fibre and lower in protein than many other grasses, making Timothy HorseHage particularly suitable for leisure horses and ponies, native ponies, veterans and horses and ponies that are resting, convalescing or prone to laminitis. Timothy has a completely different ‘nose’ to ryegrass, from which Ryegrass and High Fibre HorseHage are made. It has a very similar nutrient analysis to High Fibre HorseHage and is highly palatable, making it ideal for fussy feeders or simply to add variety to the diets of those already being fed HorseHage.
Horslyx Smallholder Block is a palatable, high energy, mineralised feed lick which provides a concentrated source of sugar which is important to help maintain rumen digestive efficiency, since grass sugar levels fall dramatically both after dull, wet weather and as the grazing season progresses from summer into autumn. Sugar is vital for optimum forage digestion in ruminants. Smallholder Block is a free access, highly palatable and weather proof lick that encourages a natural, trickle feeding grazing pattern and balances the nutrient deficiencies in modern forage and grazing.
Country Layers pellets provide a complete feed for free range laying birds. Traditional quality ingredients are used to make a 3mm pellet. Calcium is added to provide strong shells, together with all the necessary minerals and vitamins for a healthy bird. To give an attractive yolk colour, pigments extracted from marigold petals are added together with another compound which occurs naturally in the skins of oranges. Country Layers should be fed ad lib to laying birds. A typical bird will eat between 130 and 140 grammes per day.
Our Lohmann hens are also known as: Warren / Gingernut Ranger / ISA Brown / Brown Ranger / Brown Nik / Ginger Spice / Goldline. These girls have a very inquisitive nature and will certainly keep you entertained with their antics. They are ideal hens for first time chicken keepers, especially families with young children, as they are very friendly and easy to tame. A Lohmann will quite happily eat from your hand once she gets to know you! They have pretty brown/red feathers with white under-feathers and tails. These girls have a traditional “farmyard chicken” look about them. They are very similar in nature and appearance to the Blacktail hens. Lohmann hybrids are one of our most prolific layers and will provide you with approximately 320-340 fabulous large brown eggs per year.
